They say that if you are not a little ashamed of the first version of your creation, you’ve waited too long to put it out there. I didn’t wait too long for this first episode of ‘Lessons in Paradise’. I haven’t been waiting for too long for any of following episodes either.

Truth is I didn’t really know what I was doing. A friend of mine told me I should start doing videos because he liked how I talk and my facebook posts were too long for his taste. The thought of it was scary so I took the challenge – in a couple of days when I was about to post another long post, I made a long video instead. I was hunched on the floor in a weird spot on my balcony for no specific reason and I sat in the scorching Bali sun for a good hour, trying to say things in a way that when I share the video I wouldn’t want to go and hide in the forest behind me and never see people again. The lighting was terrible, I did a lot of ums and talked too much (which I still do by the way), but my friends and family continued to love me somehow 😀

I even came up with a name for the video series – at first I couldn’t remember if it was “Lessons Learned in Paradise” or “Lessons in Paradise” or “Learning in Paradise” and kept messing it up, but since I was in Bali it had to be something like that. One day I started making an actual youtube channel (thanks Dobri) and a strange question popped up – what if I move out of Bali at some point, out of paradise, and still want to do the vlog? It was then that I understood why the name was perfect especially for when I’d move out of Bali.

So here goes: I believe we already are in paradise, regardless of where we are and what’s going on in our lives. I believe life is a journey towards becoming aware of this and enjoying as much of it as we can in the limited amount of time we have here. The ‘Lessons in Paradise’ vlog is the space where I share my process of shedding patterns and beliefs that obstruct our view in order to replace them with presence, awe and wonder. It’s also my invitation to you – an invitation to connect and journey together by sharing what we are going through and helping each other see through to the greatest expression of ourselves. Feel free to drop me a line or comment below or on youtube – I’d love to hear how what I’m sharing relates to your experience.

Aaaaand last but not least, episode 1 is about anger. Anger as a weapon of connection, as a way of breaking the walls that separate us. Anger as a weapon of trust, as a way of making sure that people around us are being real and honest. Anger which when used as a weapon of liberation from social limits doesn’t need apologies.

Enjoy!
